Hey guys! I am terrible about remembering to post on this blog, because i always forget it exists, since i don't need to go here to get workouts.
But anyway. It's nice to see it sometimes. Theresa, your post is funny - this morning I biked to a fabled fabled diner in Queechee, Vt, called "Farmer's Diner" - it serves deliciously wholesome food that is all local and fresh - it tastes SO GOOD even though there's nothing exciting about it. I have never appreciated potatoes so much in my life. So what your blog post reminded me of was that I had this hard (it was short, like 12 miles - should have been shorter but i got lost, but two miles of that were 1-1 gear, cranking, steep winding hill toward the end) bike ride there, and i was all jitters and psyched up from the steel-death-trap 2-lane no-shoulder highway, and i walked into the diner so amped up and buzzing, and it was just so PEACEFUL. It was bizarre, I didn't know what to do - i think the waitress gave me her 'another one of THOSE cyclists, wtf' look.
so that was a nice ride. and i hit 37.7 mph on the way back. haha, take that ridiculous hills! and i didn't get lost on the way back.
and then today when i was working at ledyard i met a dartmouth alum from Deb's era - Diana Berger (who was wearing a gay tshirt, something about accepting the family! yay!) who didn't play rugby, but had a friend who did - Sue something, she was a cyclist/rugby player too. yay.
AND now in my final attempt to actually do the dartmouth ironman, now that i have four days left and have not been recording any of my workouts on the ironman chart most of this month, so i have to catch up now - so i swam 3/4 mile today. it felt good, only took about 35 minutes or something - i wasnt really keeping track though.
ohkay. i'm done rambling. looking back, i don't know if i finished any sentences. not with subject verb etc anyway.
BUT I HAVE ANOTHER GOOD BOOK! it's called 'to the edge', it's about ultramarathon running in death valley, read it! they are such badasses!
